Assignments

NOTE: We suggest that you print this page for reference.

The Assignments module allows students to send assignments to the course instructor for comment and grading.

Students may submit up to ten drafts of an assignment.  Each submission will prompt an e-mail message to the instructor to let him know there is a new draft to review.

The maximum file size for an individual assignment is 2MB, or about 4000 words.  To upload a file, click the Browse button located at the bottom of the assignment, browse to find the file that you want to upload, and click the Upload this file button (see Demo 1).

At the bottom of each assignment, under Submission Draft, you will be able to find all the drafts you have submitted (see Demo 2).

To send the final version of an assignment for grading, click the Browse button located at the bottom of the assignment, browse to find the file that you want to upload, and click the Send for marking button located under Final submission for assignment marking (see Demo 3).  Once you take this step, you will not be able to revise your assignment.

To add a note to the instructor (think of it as a cover letter to the assignment), click the Edit button at the bottom of the assignment under Notes (see Demo 4).  A new page will open.  Type the note in the text box and click the Save changes button to return to the assignment (see Demo 5).  You and the instructor will now be able to see the note (see Demo 6).

This course allows the instructor to upload any number of responses to assignments a student submits.  You can find these comments under Submission feedback located at the bottom of the assignment (see Demo 7).  You will receive an email alert each time the instructor responds to an assignment.

You can link to a complete listing of all assignment names, assignment types, and the dates of their submission by clicking on Assignments in the blue navigation bart at the top (see Demo 8).
